AKR has partnered with Charleston-based bag makers J. Stark to craft a backpack teeming with artwork and inspiration drawn from Javelin.
This limited edition backpack features an art print by Sufjan on the main flap (pulled from the 48-page art booklet that accompanies Javelin), a custom woven Sufjan Stevens label on the side panel, a sewn-on AKR logo patch on the front panel, and a handful of buttons pulled from artwork featured both in the album artwork and in the art booklet.
The bag itself is made from water repellent 15oz Duck Canvas and two adjustable nylon straps. Two hidden gusset snaps allow you to either secure or expand the side panels, and the main flap is held by a velcro closure.
The foundation of the bag is J. Stark's Bristol backpack, which they describe as small but mighty. With such a sleek profile, you'd never guess that it can hold your 13" laptop--or six cans of seltzer--or just your sunglasses and a wallet! In addition to the main compartment, it features a large interior pocket (9.5" x 8.5") and two smaller split pockets (4.5" x 7"), plus a quick access exterior pocket along the back (9.5" x 7.5").
