Returns & Exchanges

30-Day Return Window: You have 30 days from the date of delivery to initiate a return or exchange. After this period, we cannot process refunds or exchanges.

Condition Requirements: To be eligible for return, physical items (vinyl records, CDs, cassettes, apparel, and merchandise) must be:

  • Unopened and in original packaging
  • Unused and in the same condition you received them
  • Free from damage not caused by shipping or manufacturing defects
  • For apparel: unwashed / unworn and placed back in original packaging

What Cannot Be Returned

Due to the nature of our products, the following items are final sale:

  • Digital downloads and streaming purchases (all sales final upon download/access)
  • Opened vinyl records, CDs, and cassettes (unless defective)
  • Used or worn apparel and merchandise
  • Gift cards and store credit
  • Custom or personalized merchandise

Defective or Damaged Items

We take great care in packaging your music and merch, but sometimes things happen in transit. If your vinyl arrives warped, your CD is scratched, or your t-shirt has a printing defect, we'll make it right with a full replacement or refund. Contact us within 7 days of delivery for damaged items.

How to Return Items

  • Contact us first: Contact us with your order number and reason for return.
  • Get authorization: We'll provide you with instructions on how to process your return, once accepted.
  • Pack securely: Use original packaging when possible and pack items carefully (especially vinyl!). Include your order number on the outside of the package.
  • Ship it back: You're responsible for return shipping costs unless the item was defective or we made an error. Let us know when it's on the way.

Important: We strongly recommend using a trackable shipping method and purchasing insurance for returns over $75. Asthmatic Kitty Records is not responsible for items lost in return transit.

Refunds

Once we receive and inspect your returned item, we'll email you to confirm receipt and let you know whether your refund has been approved. Approved refunds are processed within 5-7 business days to your original payment method.

Partial Refunds: May be issued for items returned outside original packaging or showing signs of use (when applicable).

Exchanges

We offer exchanges for defective or damaged items only. If you need to exchange a defective item for the same product, contact us and we'll send a replacement at no charge. For size exchanges on apparel, you'll need to process a return and place a new order.

Missing Refunds?

If you haven't received your refund after 7 business days:

  1. Check your bank/credit card statement again
  2. Contact your bank or credit card company (processing can take additional time)
  3. If you've tried the above and still haven't received your refund, get in touch with us for troubleshooting.
